This quote brings me to the body of this abridged brief history of Ojideleke we all are his descendants, some will start argument why not Egbengwu instead of Ojideleke, I only ask us to read along at a certain points of the course of my writing the reason will be made clear.

Introduction

This quote brings me to the body of this abridged brief history of Ojideleke we all are his descendants, some will start argument why not Egbengwu instead of Ojideleke, I only ask us to read along at a certain points of the course of my writing the reason will be made clear. However, it is important to note here that we the Ojideleke descendants did not just fall off the sky and start to exist, we have Genealogy and that is the essence of this brief write-up. And the above graphical expose captured all am going to put down in form of explaining the chronological details of each stage. Based on oral history, which could not be said to be sufficient enough to explain peoples existence, it is very imperative here to state that further findings from any one who knows or is in possession of any historical facts that can give us a genuine identity, such is welcomed and will be updated accordingly, but for now lets show what we have.

OUR GENEAOLOGY: OWEH- NIMO PROGENITOR

The person Ojideleke history will not be complete without tracing the genealogy, from our Progenitor –OWEH, Owe was a hunter, who during one of his hunting expeditions discovered the present day NIMO, and what attracted him here was its suitability for hunting and habitation, as it was blessed with in abundance, rivers, valleys, lakes, natural springs, woodlands, grassland and games. He settled thereon and while there, he married a wife named: OMAIGBO, with whom he had and raised four children namely:

 

NIMO
EZIOWELLE
ABAGANA
ABBA

OJIDELEKE- OUR PATRIACH

History has it that OJIDELEKE was one of the four sons of NIMO namely: ETITI, OJIDELEKE. IFITE-ANI and IFITE-ENU and he gave birth to only one son named EGBENGWU, in turn Egbengwu gave birth to seven (7) sons namely:
1. IKWELUORA- URUKWELUORA
2. EZEFUNA- UMUDU
3. DUNU- UMUDUNU
4. ONYEJEM- URUONYEJEM
5. DUOMENYIORA-EBONANO
6. OLIKA-EBONATO
7. OGEDU-ATUKPOLUM
The above seven sons represents the seven villages in Egbengwu, and in turn the seven villages gave birth to the number of clans under them as stated below:
IKWELUORA begat three sons namely:
1. Umuikweluora
2. Umuezeobele
3. Umunwandu
EZEFUNA begat three sons namely:
1. Umuekpu
2. Umuodebelu
3. Umuebe
DUNU begat four sons namely:
1. Umuogige
2. Umuomeke
3. Uruobeagu
4. Uruokpokolo
ONYEJEM begat three sons namely:
1. Umumbuba
2. Umuojeana
3. Umuaguobele
DUOMENYIORA begat four sons namely:
1. Uruomali
2. Iruduananta
3. Irudalor
4. Umudiokpala
OLIKA begat three sons namely:
1. Uruaguobe
2. Uruolika
3. Umuduzo
OGEDU begat three sons namely:
1. Uruebuna
2. Umudunam
3. Urualor.
Having listed the composition of umu- ojideleleke, we shall also look at: 1. Our occupations/trade
2. Social affinity( beliefs, festivals, market days, )
3. Leadership structure
Our Occupation/Trade: Umu-Ojideleke are into farming, hunting, palm wine tapping, fishing, arts and crafts, trading, black smiting we have accomplished lawyers, Doctors ,Engineers , Infarct We are found in all walks of life including transportation, just know we are hard working people and excel in any work our hands find to do.
